The Professional Convention Management Association has announced the "Industry Business Forum for Local Leaders" series, supported in part by the PCMA Education Foundation. The invitation-only program has been designed for global convention center and destination management executives, along with their local board members and policy makers. The series, which will focus on how industry business issues affect both the organizations and the local communities, was developed by PCMA with support and guidance from Bruce MacMillan and Roger Rickard. MacMillan, formerly the CEO of Meeting Professionals International, is now the chief executive of Bandwidth Management, a new venture dedicated to assisting DMOs; industry advocate Rickard is the founder of consulting firm REvent. Both men will serve as program moderators and will lead panel discussions with industry leaders and executives. Participants invited to the forum will participate in confidential discussions with experts and peers. The first event will be sponsored by IMEX America and take place on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, in Orlando, just prior to PCMA's CEO Summit at its annual Convening Leaders meeting. The registration fee is $395. Subsequent events, to be announced in early 2013, will occur throughout the year.
