The Professional Convention Management Association and PCMA Education Foundation have created the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund to provide assistance to members in the meetings industry who have been impacted by the storm.

"I invite everyone in the business-events community to help our colleagues who are struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey," said Deborah Sexton, president and CEO of PCMA. "We are committed to doing whatever it takes to help southeastern Texas emerge from this disaster."

Since the Wednesday launch, the fund has raised more than $5,000 of its $25,000 target; 100 percent of the donations will go to those in need.

To donate to the fund, for those who live in the U.S., text the following to 41444: "HELPTX," the dollar amount, and your first and last name (e.g., HELPTX 50 Jane Doe). You will then receive a link to complete the process of your payment.

For those who live outside of the U.S., visit the PCMA Foundation's donation page and enter HELPTX in the "I give because" box for your donation to be directed to the PCMA Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
