The International Association of Exhibitions and Events, the Professional Convention Management Association and the Experience Institute have collaborated on a report that studies attendee behavior and what influences their decision to participate in exhibitions, meetings and events. The Decision to Attend Study – Phase One, which surveyed 7,171 current and potential attendees, found that one-half of respondents combine attending a meeting with a vacation opportunity. In addition, 75 percent of attendees take advantage of the meeting destination's offerings, including 85 percent of Gen Y and Millennials. The study is available on the three sponsoring associations' websites. Phase two of study will explore the topic further.
