SGMP Elects New Board
The Society of Government Meeting Professionals' new national board of directors for 2015-17 has been named. Current SGMP first vice president Maggie McGowan, CGMP, CMP, program coordinator/event services specialist for the University of Oklahoma's Center for Public Management, was elected president for the two-year term. Continuing in their current board positions are second vice president James Lynton, CGMP, of Hawthorn Suites in Sacramento, Calif.; treasurer Brett Sterenson, president of the Hotel Lobbyists site-selection firm in Washington, D.C.; and director Tecumseh Deloney, CMP, CGMP, project manager of conferences and meetings at Zero to Three, an association for families with infants and toddlers. Four of the newly elected members are serving for the first time; a complete list follows.
