Two meetings industry associations, the Association for Convention Operations Management and the Association for Convention Sales and Marketing Executives, have rebranded their organizations to better reflect new strategic directions. ACOM has changed its name to the Event Service Professionals Association to embrace "the diversity of the roles our members play and their evolving responsibilities in their venues and cities. Importantly, the new name focuses on our members and their vital contributions, rather than simply referencing their job function as our previous name did," according to the association's website. Likewise, ACME is now Convention Sales Professionals International to "better represent the spirit of collaborative success between destination marketing organizations and convention center sales and marketing professionals," reads a statement on CSPI's website.
