The State Department has issued a travel warning for Ukraine because of clashes between police and protesters in the capital city of Kiev. The travel warning replaces a travel alert issued by the U.S. Government on Feb. 18. Since that date, local authorities have shut down the Kiev Metro for extended periods and canceled intercity trains on some routes with little or no notice, the State Department said. U.S. citizens living or traveling in Ukraine are encouraged to enroll in the State Department's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program
to receive travel and security updates.
