About 30 percent of associations will hold more meetings in 2014 than in 2013, according to a joint ICCA/IMEX survey of 92 international association planners; nearly half (47 percent) predict higher attendance over 2013 numbers at their events. In other findings, 32 percent of respondents reported higher attendance for their 2013 events than in 2012, and 37 percent indicated no change from 2012. Fifty-seven percent said the continued global economic turbulence is having a negative impact on their association and/or events this year, a slight improvement over the 60 percent who felt that way in 2012.
