Paris police will expand its year-old plan of tightened security in tourist areas to include the French capital's Champs-Elysées; Gare du Nord, the train terminal for the Eurostar; Boulevard Saint-Germain; the lower Latin Quarter, and the Place du Chatelet. Last year, security was increased around the Louvre Museum, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower and the Sacre-Coeur Cathedral. These popular spots will continue to receive extra security.
