Universal Parks & Resorts announced it would open a $3.3 billion, 300-acre theme park in Beijing in 2019. The park will include similar movie-themed attractions in Universal's other parks in Los Angeles, Orlando, Japan and Singapore, but also will feature attractions created specifically for China. Plans also call for a Universal CityWalk area that will offer retail, dining and entertainment, in addition to a Universal-themed resort hotel.
