The Acapulco International Convention Center, which was shuttered temporarily last Nov. 30 while investors were sought for upgrades, is reopening. The CAABSA Group has invested US$40 million in the project and will oversee the construction and development of a new convention center. The new center will be built adjacent to the current site; upon completion, the current convention center will become a shopping and restaurant complex. Construction will be planned so as not to interfere with events booked at the current site.
