The Greater Baltimore Committee has proposed a $900 million development for the city's Inner Harbor that includes a $325 million, 18,500-seat arena topped by a $175 million, 500-room hotel that would be built on the site of the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel. Moving forward on the privately funded hotel and arena is dependent on a $400 million convention center expansion proposal that would require state funding through bonds. The expansion, which would double the size of the center to 760,000 square feet, would be connected to the arena and hotel. A feasibility study being conducted by the state is expected to be complete by the end of the year and will help determine whether the project will get the go-ahead.
