Three months ahead of schedule, the $325 million expansion of San Antonio's Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center has been topped off. The $93.5 million first phase is adding 270,000 square feet of exhibition space on the Texas facility's eastern side. Construction is expected to finish up in 2016, at which time the facility will have 514,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, 270,000 square feet of new exhibit space, 85,000 square feet of column-free multipurpose space, a 54,000-square-foot ballroom, 70 meeting spaces including divisible breakout rooms, and a wrap-around balcony with views of downtown and the River Walk.
