The Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center has received a $3 million commitment from site manager SMG to convert its 600,000-square-foot Center into a LEED-certified facility. The LEED certification process is expected to be completed by the end of 2011 and will include a revamped landscape design for reduced water usage, energy-efficient lighting and low-flow toilets, faucets and dishwashers.
