Ground was broken last week on an expansion of the Tinley Park Convention Center in south Chicago. An additional 24,000 square feet of exhibit space will be built, bringing the total of contiguous space to more than 58,000 square feet. Also part of the project is 9,000 square feet of function space; upon completion by May 2011, the facility will offer a total of 18 meeting rooms. Other amenities of the expansion include Wi-Fi connectivity, a business center, new loading docks and 450 new parking spaces.
