Last Monday, ground was broken on the 1.2 million-square-foot Music City Center in downtown Nashville. The new facility will feature a 350,000-square-foot exhibit hall, 90,000 square feet of meeting space, 75,000 square feet of ballroom space, 30,000 square feet of retail shops and 36 loading docks. The $585 million project will replace the existing convention center and more than double the amount of event space available. Construction will take approximately three years.
