IACC Appoints MCI to Provide Association Management Services
The International Association of Conference Centers has appointed MCI, the global association management and meeting planning company, to provide operational and administrative services to IACC on a worldwide basis. IACC will be serviced by new offices opening in Chicago; Brussels, Belgium; and Singapore. The organization's longtime headquarters in St. Louis will close on Sept. 21 and the current support staff will be let go; the CEO, Mark Cooper, who lives in England, and the current global board and the chapter boards will remain intact. In a statement, Peter Stewart, global president of the association, said, "Like many associations around the world, IACC had been faced with a changing operating environment and the need to implement strategies that would sustain it well into the future. As the demand for membership services evolves and emerging technologies change the way we all interact with each other, IACC will be well placed to respond in the future.” Five new member conference centers are expected to be announced next week.
