The Las Cruces (N.M.) Convention Center, which debuted last December, has achieved LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Among the facility's green features are its use of electricity produced from solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, biomass and low-impact small hydroelectric sources; use of water-efficient landscaping; procurement of low emission and recycled materials, and the center's access to alternative transportation. The venue has 14,500 square feet of exhibit space, a 9,000-square-foot ballroom, six meeting rooms and 2,000 square feet of indoor prefunction space. Also available is 5,000 square feet of outdoor function space.
