The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has put the finishing touches on $20 million worth of renovations to the Las Vegas Convention Center, performed over the past two years. Among the improvements are a color change to the façade, trading in the previous mauve exterior for two shades of gray; an expansion of more than eight acres to the Green parking lot, with more parking lots to come; more than 1 million square feet of new red carpet inside the facility; new paint inside; and upgraded, more energy-efficient lighting in the Central and North Halls. The expanded Starbucks inside the center has added the company's first-ever double-sided counter, and American Express debuted its OPEN Business Lounge inside the main entrance.
