A $12 million modernization of the Miami Mart Exhibition Center, soon to be known as the Miami Airport Convention Center, is under way, to be completed by the end of this year. The force behind the renovation is United Capital Corp., owners of the attached 334-room Doubletree Hotel. The venue features 172,000 square feet of mixed-use space and the ability to accommodate up to 485 booths for trade shows. The entire facility is being redone, including the technology infrastructure; being added are a new entrance porte cochere and a new registration desk.
