A new convention center, set to open in 2018, is being built near Dubai Creek, next to the Mohammad Bin Rashid Library and facing Dubai Festival City, according to press reports. The complex will have two hotels, offices, a hall that will accommodate up to 10,000 delegates, and five smaller halls that each will hold up to 1,000 people.

At press time, the only information available regarding the hotels is that one will be a three-star property with 33 floors and the other, a 48-story, four-star hotel. The exhibit halls will be linked to the hotels and offices by the Concourse Building, an air-conditioned glass corridor that will have shops and restaurants.

Dubai Municipality is working with Dubai Holding on the convention center project.
