According to a statement from James Rooney, executive director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, operations have been suspended at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, in light of the massive ongoing attempt to capture at least one surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing. Activities already under way at the facilities will be allowed to continue, including the move-in of the Experimental Biology 2013 Annual Meeting at the BCEC and sessions for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's Annual Meeting at the Hynes. Labor calls scheduled at the Hynes to move out the ASCA and the move-in of Boston Comic Con are suspended. Attendees, exhibitors, employees of the MCCA and employees of contractors not already en route should not come to the facilities.
