The Qatar National Convention Centre, a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, opened Monday. The center, designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, has a 2,300-seat theater, three auditoriums, a multipurpose conference hall, 432,000 square feet of exhibition space and 52 meeting rooms. The center's first meeting, the 5,000-delegate World Petroleum Conference, is taking place this week.
