Beginning Nov. 15, SMG, the facilities management company, will take over management operations of the Cleveland Convention Center and the adjacent Global Center for Health Innovation. The new GCHI, which offers state-of-the-art showrooms for displaying health-care innovation and has an 11,000-square-foot ballroom, celebrated its ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday. The Cleveland Convention Center opened in June with 225,000 square feet of exhibit space and more than 90,000 square feet of meeting rooms, including a 32,000-square-foot ballroom overlooking Lake Erie.
