Yesterday afternoon, the San Jose City Council approved a bond sale to fund a $120 million project upgrade to the San Jose Convention Center. The City of San Jose and Team San Jose officially unveiled the plans yesterday for a 125,000-square-foot expansion that will be completed in 2013. The project is expected to achieve LEED silver certification and will bring the center's total usable space to 550,000 square feet. The new space will include 25,000 square feet of meeting space and a 35,000-square-foot ballroom space. Additionally, the center's existing facilities will be renovated.
