Last week, the San Jose City Council unanimously voted to solicit requests for proposal for a new management team to take control of the city's convention center and performing arts theaters. Team San Jose, which has been managing the facilities, ran over budget and is in default by $750,000, according to bizjournals.com. Another issue cited by city council members were the large bonuses handed out to members of Team San Jose just 90 days after CEO Dan Fenton learned that the nonprofit was over budget by $950,000.
