More than 1,600 solar panels are being installed on the roof of Hall 8 at Amsterdam RAI, the city's convention center. When the panels are turned on in early 2014, the display will become the largest solar roof in the Netherlands. The system will provide 360,000 kilowatt-hours a year, enough to run 140 households for a year. Amsterdam RAI offers 1,164,356 square feet of event space, including 11 halls, two auditoriums, a ballroom, 64 breakout rooms and two semipermanent halls.
