Salt Lake County, Utah, which owns the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, is installing a 600,000-square-foot array of solar panels on the facility's roof. The 11,319 panels will more than double the current solar capacity in the entire state of Utah and will generate about 25 percent of the energy consumed each year by the facility. The project will be completed in January.
