The new arena being built just west of the Las Vegas Strip through an MGM Resorts/AEG joint venture will be called the T-Mobile Arena, the partners have revealed. AEG Global Partnerships negotiated multiyear naming rights with the wireless provider.
The 20,000-seat arena, slated to open in April, has been designed to host major concerts and sporting events, as well as other acts. Local favorites The Killers have been tapped to play the opening night, April 6. Other confirmed events include UFC 200, the Harlem Globetrotters, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Dixie Chicks, Janet Jackson, UNLV/Duke college basketball and the 2016 Professional Bull Riders World Finals.
T-Mobile wireless customers will get unique benefits at the venue, including a dedicated fast-track VIP entrance. Some events will reserve tickets, VIP experiences, pre-sales and upgrades exclusively for T-Mobile customers. Charging stations for all attendees will be available throughout the concourse.
The arena, which will have 42 luxury suites, is being constructed between MGM's New York-New York and Monte Carlo resorts.
