Meetings technology provider Active Network has announced the new Smart Events Cloud, the long-anticipated technology that consolidates data from the StarCite strategic meetings management platform with that of the Active Conference event-marketing tools. Active clients now will be able to view combined data from all of their events, regardless of their size and type. Combined registration and spend information will provide a more comprehensive view of an organization's meetings, as well as more comprehensive profiles of attendees. Data may be viewed and analyzed from a variety of Active's tools and platforms, among them registration, spend management with location-based sourcing, speaker and exhibitor management, and online communities. The Smart Events Cloud will roll out in phases over the next nine months, beginning in November. Among the new features are Active Small Meetings 2.0, a tool for creating and sourcing a small meeting; Active Lead Management, for exhibitors and sponsors to acquire information more easily, using QR codes, RFID and near-field communication technologies; and an improved account and events dashboard.
