Event mobile app provider DoubleDutch introduced in-app badge scanning for exhibitors this week. The functionality provides a new way to integrate exhibitors and sponsors into the app, which aims to deepen engagement by creating a focused social network. With the new tools, noted DoubleDutch founder and CEO Lawrence Coburn, "We bring the same data approach to the exhibitor experience as we do the event organizers, further illuminating ROI for event attendance and participation." Booth staffers can scan QR codes or barcodes from attendee badges, using their phones with the DoubleDutch app. That provides exhibitors with a robust profile of the attendee scanned, based on their in-app activity, allowing exhibitors to understand their leads in real time as the conference progresses. DoubleDutch is working on developing integration with marketing automation software, connecting conference leads with an exhibiting company's general marketing database.
