Event production and brand-experience giant Freeman has launched OnlineEvent, a platform that streamlines the process of putting content online - for virtual or hybrid events, as well as online educational initiatives and year-round online communities. The comprehensive tool is designed to help leverage content, expand event reach and create new sources of revenue, and provides services to aid in the strategy and creative phases up through technical and production support.

The new platform is the result of an investment by Freeman Digital Ventures, a fund that supports the development of event technology and data solutions. "Our investment in OnlineEvent is part of our ongoing commitment to lead innovation in our industry," said Richard Maranville, chief digital officer of Freeman. "The offering creates a simple and elegant experience for consuming event-based content while event organizers benefit from a cost-effective, turnkey online event solution."

Freeman worked with Blue Sky eLearn to build the platform, which is a combination of Freeman's Presentation Management solution with Blue Sky's Learning Management System. The integration essentially streamlines the flow of physical presentation materials to the online ecosystem, making that content available for a variety of purposes.

Potential uses of the technology include extending the life and reach of an event; keeping the buzz going after the event; creating new revenue streams; tracking, organizing and assessing content demand with respect to registration and attendee access; and connecting globally via the broadcast of live events with real-time attendee interaction.

"By leveraging Freeman's world-class resources and Blue Sky eLearn's web-platform solutions, we're bringing a new end-to-end virtual-event experience to the industry," said Philip G. Forte, president of Blue Sky eLearn.

Some Freeman clients already are using the platform, which is now available in wider release.
