GenieConnect's marketing automation and personalization tool, MarketingConnect, has taken the top prize in the EIBTM 2013 Technology Watch. A panel of industry experts selected the software from a record pool of 61 contenders, after scoring the entries on innovation, completeness of concept and value to the meeting industry. MarketingConnect can be used to set up automated marketing campaigns based on its integration with GenieConnect's event solutions. The campaigns are driven by event information, such as that from exhibitors and sessions, and visitor data captured at registration. The marketing campaigns can be triggered when an attendee interacts with the event platform, by clicking on a link, downloading the app or signing into the web portal. The information pushed to attendees is based on their behavior and their use of the mobile and online tools. "GenieConnect provides a rich ecosystem of both web and mobile technologies to apply business intelligence," said judging panel chair Corbin Ball, "using meeting participant preferences to target the right people with the right content." Honorable mentions went to TapCrowd, a do-it-yourself mobile app management platform; Poll Everywhere, an SMS-based audience response system; Social Tables, a cloud-based platform for room layouts, seating and check-in; and Conferize, an online portal for following the action of in-person conferences around the world.
