Corporate travel booking platform GetThere updated its GetThere Mobile service on Monday, giving travelers the ability to book new hotel reservations from their mobile devices. The app is free for GetThere customers and runs on most smartphones, including Android, BlackBerry and Apple iOS devices. Customers now can shop for and reserve hotel rooms within company policy and preferences, view those properties from a list or map, access information about both current trips and those placed on hold, view flight information and click through to call their travel agency. In other news, GetThere also rolled out its Ground Preferred Network, a new, free service offering discounted rates for ground transportation with a number of suppliers. Among those included in the launch are Carey, Dave El, Empire CLS, International Limos, Super Shuttle, TriStar Worldwide and Wynne Limo.  The negotiated-rate program has been designed for GetThere customers who don't currently manage a ground travel program.
