Groupize.com launched last week, a new group-targeted hotel booking engine. The service, still in beta, searches group rates and availability at more than 25,000 U.S. hotels. Additional planning tools include online invitation functionality and the ability to track registrations and changes to reservations. The site allows planners to book and hold between five and 25 rooms and is targeted towards for events such as family reunions, weddings and family vacations. Groupize currently is negotiating with major hotel chains to provide group discount rates, according to the company.
