Marriott International launched QuickGroup on Tuesday, an online portal for booking 10 to 25 rooms and/or meeting space for up to 50 attendees. The 24/7 service automates the booking process for small groups and offers the ability to reserve audiovisual services and catering options, as well as to request a custom event web page. Planners must agree to a "simple, standard" online contract, according to Marriott, and provide a credit card number to reserve the space. Marriott Rewards points can be earned through the portal. The company is targeting business meetings, sports-team travel and social events with QuickGroup; participating hotels include North American properties under the JW Marriott, Renaissance, Marriott, Courtyard, Fairfield, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn and TownePlace Suites brands.
