NiceMeeting, a provider of mobile technology for meetings, has released version 2.0 of its second-screen-technology platform, which aims to increase live-event engagement via attendees' mobile devices. The upgrade includes requested features as well as additional social-media and sharing capabilities. The revamped smartphone interface provides improved access to features such as participation in live polls and the ability to ask questions of presenters, join a chat and make slide notations; users also are able to watch every presentation live, optimized for viewing on a smartphone. The Q&A functionality is now more interactive, allowing participants to rate questions that help drive speakers toward the most pressing and popular questions; and event settings and content sharing policies are now more flexible, allowing speakers greater opportunity to select modules and customize access and views. The newest release also includes a PowerPoint plug-in, which simplifies the process for speakers to push their content to attendees' mobile devices during live presentations. Additionally, NiceMeeting is available as a native mobile app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices.
