Room Key, a hotel search engine founded by six of the largest hotel companies, came out of beta testing last week. Along with the launch, several new features were introduced, including integrated consumer reviews, a "shortlist" tool geared toward interactive feedback and a Facebook page (facebook.com/roomkey). "With website traffic reaching nearly 2 million visitors per month in our first 90 days," noted Room Key CEO John F. Davis III, "we're thrilled with the consumer response and will continue to expand our offerings as part of our ongoing commitment to helping travelers search, book and relax." The shortlist tool facilitates property comparisons among multiple locations, and allows hotel shoppers to collaborate with family and friends on the decision via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter. Room Key's founding hotel companies are Choice Hotels International, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels Corp., InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott International and Wyndham Hotel Group. In the coming months, connections to Best Western, Loews Hotels, Preferred Hotel Group and World Hotels will be added. Also, a number of independent hotels and chains will be bookable through upcoming integration with Sabre Hospitality Solutions, TravelClick and Trust International.
