Speecheo, a presentation-sharing tool that provides real-time feedback to speakers, was named the winner of the IMEX America/Event Manager Blog event-tech start-up competition last week. The inaugural competition, held during IMEX America in Las Vegas, allowed representatives from 10 start-up finalist companies to pitch their products to a panel of judges. The presentations also were open to attendees who wanted to learn more about the products. The other finalists were Attendify, which makes event apps; Crowdmics, which turns smartphones into event microphones; Eversnap, which collects attendee photos and video via their devices and apps; GruupMeet, provider of collaborative event management; InitLive, which provides mobile volunteer management; Planning Pod, an online event-planning platform;, a Q&A platform; Speaker Sponsor, which offers matchmaking between speakers and small business sponsors; and Topi, which offers geolocation-based networking. The panel of judges selected Speecheo based on innovation, industry value, cost, uniqueness and other criteria. Speecheo will receive promotion through IMEX publications and the Event Manager Blog, and will get free booth space at IMEX America 2015.
