TalkPoint, a communication-technology provider, has launched Convey, a self-service webcasting tool that the company is demonstrating at the Streaming Media East conference this week in New York City and is available now. The new tool is entirely browser-based, and can be used with the broadcast signal from a videoconferencing unit, encoder, webcam or telephone line. With Convey, TalkPoint applies its traditional hosted, managed webcast service model to a cost-effective, do-it-yourself approach. The new tool delivers high-quality webcasts, with or without a video component, to live and on-demand audiences of up to 10,000 people via PCs, Macs and Apple or Android mobile devices. A web-based editing studio allows the webcast and visual components to be edited before posting for on-demand viewing. More information is available here.
