Event-technology provider Cvent has named the top meetings destinations around the globe. For the first time, the tech giant has named the top cities in multiple regions simultaneously - the top 50 in the United States, and the top 25 in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA), and in the Asia Pacific region. This year marks the debut of the Asia Pacific ranking. The different regions are ranked independently of each other.
Cvent has drawn its lists from booking activity through its Cvent Supplier Network. The top 10 cities in each region are:

"Meetings and events are critically important to the economies of cities of all sizes around the world," said Kevin Fliess, vice president of marketing for Cvent's Hospitality Cloud. "During the past five years we have tracked how cities across the U.S. compete. Factors that have often created a difference have included investments in infrastructure, hotel renovations within a city, economic factors that make a destination more appealing and offering an alternative to mainstream destinations. More recently we have been tracking EMEA and APAC locations and are already seeing similar methods of competing.
In the U.S., Orlando has claimed the top spot in four of the last five years, based on Cvent's evaluation of more than 5,000 U.S cities in its Supplier Network. For the EMEA rankings, more than 2,500 cities were evaluated, and for APAC, more than 500. For all regions, Cvent tracked activity from Jan. 1, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2015, and looked at the following qualifying criteria:
• Unique requests for proposals received,
• total room nights,
• awarded requests for proposals,
• awarded room nights,
• percentage of qualified meeting venues and
• number of profile views.
