According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, last week the Georgia House approved immigration legislation, sending House Bill 87 to the State Senate for approval. If the bill is passed, state and local police would be authorized to verify the immigration status of certain suspects and would target people who use fake identification to get jobs in the state. HB 87 is just one of nine bills being considered in Georgia concerning immigration.
