Revenues for Atlantic City’s 11 casinos declined nearly 20 percent last month from August 2010 earnings, making it the biggest monthly plunge in the city’s history. The casino resorts closed for three days on what is typically one of the busiest weekends of the year due to Hurricane Irene; overall lost business due to the disaster is estimated to be $45 million.
