With Hurricane Irma, currently a massive Category 5 storm, tracking toward Florida, Northstar Meetings Group has announced that its Destination Southeast event, scheduled for Sept. 10-13 in Miami Beach at the Nobu Eden Roc Hotel & Resort, has been postponed until Dec. 3-6 at the same property.

"With the governor of Florida declaring a state of emergency and airlines already canceling flights, Northstar and its event partners agree that it's in everyone's best interest to reschedule our Destination Southeast event," said Danielle Cirami-Gillis, vice president of events and trade shows for NMG, whose brands include M&C. "Nothing is more important than the safety of our friends, customers and partners. We hope and pray the storms veers back out to sea and everyone stays out of harm's way, but we're erring on the side of caution, planning for the worst and hoping for the best."

All locations, activities and educational programming planned for Destination Southeast have been postponed to the new dates. Northstar's staff is working with hosted planners to coordinate changes to their itineraries, and is assisting suppliers in rescheduling their appointments and more.
