The bimonthly Business Barometer for February 2011 from Meeting Professionals International shows a 4 percent drop in the number of senior meeting professionals who are experiencing shorter lead times. As the strengthening economy is allowing hotels to charge higher rates, and higher fuel costs are pushing up airfares, it's no surprise the respondents also indicated travel costs are rising. The Barometer is a survey of more than 300 senior meeting professionals and also looks at employment and technology trends and more. The full report is available here at no cost for MPI members; nonmembers can buy the report for $25.
