 Ninety-seven percent of the 709 business travelers surveyed for the third-annual Embassy Suites Hotels Business Travel Survey consider face time a critical partial of building customer relationships, and more than half (53 percent) reported having more in-person meetings with clients than in recent years. Those who spent less face time with clients in a past 12 months reported it had a disastrous impact on their business relationships, losing business or clients. Respondents also said digital does not replace in-person, saying it would take an average of five video conferences, 10 phone calls or 20 e-mails to replace one hour of face-to-face contact with a client.
