Northstar Travel Media, M&C's parent company, has acquired ProMedia.travel, publisher of The Beat, Procurement.travel, Management.travel and The Transnational. The acquisition of ProMedia strengthens Northstar's position in the corporate travel management market, where it currently owns the category-leading publishing brand, Business Travel News.

ProMedia.travel was founded in 2006 by long-time corporate travel media executives -- Tim Reid, Jay Campbell, David Jonas, Louis Magliaro and Mary Ann McNulty -- to offer digital media and information services to the business travel market. The entire ProMedia.travel team will be joining Northstar Travel Media.

Northstar Travel Media serves the retail travel, meetings and conventions, corporate travel management and incentive markets with leadership brands including Travel Weekly,TravelAge West,Meetings & Conventions,Successful Meetings,Meeting News, and Incentive; database-driven electronic publications including Hotel & Travel Index, Official Cruise Guide and M&C Facilities Search; and online subscription services Weissmann Reports, Intelliguide Corporate, BTP24 and Star Service Online.

Reid will lead the Northstar Travel Media commercial travel group and Campbell will head up editorial operations. The division will be known as The BTN Group.
