Officials for Visit Orlando, the city's destination marketing organization, expect to see a 2.3 percent year-over-year increase in business travel for 2011 and a 4.8 percent increase in 2012, bringing corporate travel numbers up to 3.34 million and 3.62 million, respectively. The city's outlook is based partially on positive indicators from 2010, where in-year and future-year bookings generated nearly 2.2 million room nights (a 10 percent increase from 2009) and an estimated $1.7 billion in attendee spending. Additionally, the city's Orange County Convention Center hosted 95 conventions and trade shows in 2010, up from 84 in 2009, and an increase in show attendance by 17 percent from the year before.
