Quick Chat With Gerry Link

Gerry Link

Gerry Link is general manager of the new 125-room 21c Museum Hotel Durham (N.C.), opening next month.

What are some of the challenges of opening a hotel that doubles as an art museum?
I've taken a part in other hotel openings, and none involved working with an art curator, hiring a museum manager, working with the local art community and training the staff on the workings of an art museum along with their standard hospitality duties. Plus, we'll get to change the look of our lobby every six months as our exhibits change. Isn't that sweet?
