What's it like to work in such an iconic New York City hotel?
I feel very privileged to work here. Our grand ballrooms have seen a lot of history, including a speech by Martin Luther King Jr. in 1956, John F. Kennedy accepting the Democratic presidential nomination in 1960, and other luminaries ranging from Babe Ruth to Anita Ekberg. And our location, being connected to Grand Central Station, can't be beat.

Alison Taylor

Alison Taylor has been named senior vice president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts' sales organization, replacing Christie Hicks. A 25-year Starwood veteran, Taylor previously managed the company's sales and revenue in Asia. She now will be responsible for setting Starwood's business-to-business sales strategy and leading a sales team of more than 5,000 global associates.

At the 300-room World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine Resort, Jacqueline Bassett (left) and Paul Drake have been hired as national sales managers. Bassett's focus includes religious and golf groups, while Drake's purview includes sports groups.

At the 359-room PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., David Fine has been promoted from vice president of sales, marketing and revenue development to senior vice president, sales and market development.
Jarnetta Manna

The 152-room Axiom Hotel, on target to open this fall in downtown San Francisco, has named Jarnetta Manna (left) director of operations and hired Garry Cox as general manager.
Fabio Petrone

The 100-room Rosewood Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands, has named Fabio Petrone food and beverage manager. Most recently, Petrone oversaw F&B at the CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa in Anguilla.

Kevin Schiller has been hired as area director of sales and marketing, Los Angeles, for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. His duties include overseeing sales and marketing for the 393-room Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif.
Joanne Sullivan

Joanne Sullivan has been appointed director of catering at the 393-room Hilton Hartford in Connecticut. She last served as sales manager at the DoubleTree by Hilton Raleigh-Durham (N.C.) Airport.
