In a February 2010 survey by M&C, just 14 percent of meeting professionals had a strategic meetings management program in place (mcmag.com/article_ektid32122.aspx). Today, that number has more than doubled, to 31 percent, according to an M&C poll conducted last month. Also, nearly two-thirds of the 109 survey respondents correctly defined the SMM concept as a disciplined approach to managing enterprise-wide meeting and event activities, processes and data. Three years ago, just one in four chose the most accurate definition of the term. For more, turn to "The Evolution of SMM."
