According to the Arizona Republic, preliminary results from yesterday's ballotting show that measures to increase the hotel occupancy taxes in two cities, Scottsdale and Tempe, were approved. In both cases, the increase is 2 percentage points; Scottsdale's total taxes on hotel rooms will jump to 13.92 percent, while Tempe will raise rates to 14.07 percent. Officials expect the final results to be announced Friday.
